The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists is working with the Northern Ireland Assembly to raise awareness of speech, language and communication difficulties. As part of the Giving Voice campaign the RCSLT is running a competition to find the funniest pupils in Northern Ireland.
To highlight the importance of communication, the Voice Box awards is asking pupils from all over Northern Ireland to send in their funniest joke. For example, last year?s winner from Voice box champion, Robyn, sent in this joke:
What do you call a donkey with 3 legs?
A wonky!
Send them your best joke on the official application form by 12 October 2012 via the following link:

The grand final will once again be held in the Parliament Building?s Senate Chamber to highlight the importance of communication skills to young people and elected representatives as part of the UK wide Giving Voice campaign.
The competition finale will bring together pupils, parents, teachers, MLAs and speech and language therapists for a day of fun and laughter.
The lucky finalists will be selected to attend a live joke telling event at Parliament Buildings in Belfast in November, and one lucky winner will win an iPad 2. So let?s encourage children in Northern Ireland to tell us their best jokes and show us the importance of speech and language therapy!
