These downloadable packs are for teachers who have completed the Colourful Semantics Introductory Course and are looking to implement the Colourful Semantics structure into their planning.

This pack is the English Lesson-Planning Support Pack. We also have packs for Maths and Science. They highlight the related objectives from Nursery to Year 6. Each curricula area has its corresponding Board Maker symbols to reduce workload with lesson planning.

These packs can be used to plan lessons for pupils who have a range of speech, language and communication difficulties, enabling them to fully-access the curriculum.

They can also be used to show general lesson differentiation or to demonstrate the inclusion of Colourful Semantics as a whole-school approach.

These Colourful Semantics lesson plans support the learning objectives for Speaking (Nursery), Communication & Language (Foundation), Grammar & Punctuation (KS1) and Reading Comprehension & Writing Composition (KS2).

The Nursery, Foundation and KS1 plans contain four sessions and the KS2 plan contains seven. These lesson plans can be used as whole-class lessons, for specific small group or 1:1 interventions.

The English Lesson-Planning section covers:

  • Generic symbols
  • Speaking
  • Reading (word reading & comprehension)
  • Writing (composition)

The accompanying symbols can be printed for use with a whole class, small group or individual pupil; alternatively, they can be used for a classroom display or working wall.
