It  has been recently announced that 2011 is to be the National Year of Communication. Originally proposed in the 2008 Bercow Report, the aim is to help all children and young people fulfil their potential through better communication. The Communication Trust will be managing and delivering the National Year, and are in the process of developing a new website about the campaign: http://www.hello.org.uk/ 
 
They will also be updating the Talking Point website, “ensuring it has the most comprehensive and easily accessible information for parents and professionals on speech, language and communication” – http://www.talkingpoint.org.uk/ 
The campaign has the backing of the Communication Champion, Jean Gross. Jean is responsible for working with Government, delivery partners and other stakeholders to establish initiatives improving services for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
