Last week was my first week and I only have 1 client. I think it went well. Would love some advice about it though – Alison • Tue, 19:18
what advice Alison?
people are helpful and welcoming. I do feel like there is sooooo much to do in 4 hours once a week or every other week. – Lynn • Tue, 19:19
I have a nice adult acquired client, really good for a first client – Shayma • Tue, 19:19
time management can be tricky especially as i know that you all want to do the very best
Yes, I think sometimes I feel like I can’t do everything I want to do. – Lynn • Tue, 19:20
I’m finding the resources section a bit of a struggle. Firstly, it would help if it was categorised in alphabetical order so that we didn’t have to trawl/look through 36 pages to find physical resources. Also, the resources for acquired is quite limited. I ‘v had a look in teh Aphasia section and would be reluctant to use some of them as they are a bit “childish”. I wouldn’t want to demean the client. – Alison • Tue, 19:21
i have a setting that is only four hours with 40 children on my caseload i think been honest and keeping your link person up todate helps me – Stephanie • Tue, 19:21
I’m a bit worried about my ASD client and what I will be doing with him, although I still have one more chance to see him at school, but a little therapy is expected from mum too on that day – Shayma • Tue, 19:21
Ok guys, i’ve got to shoot on here. Enjoy the rest of your meeting and talk soon xo – Rachel Coulter • Tue, 19:22
bye Rachel – Lynn • Tue, 19:22
Choices is going really well. Very busy with new learners starting – Danyaal • Tue, 19:22
See you Rachel – Fatima • Tue, 19:22
Stephanie that’s so right as long as you are feeding back what you have done to the link person so that they are kept in the loop
shayma if you have a think and send me a session plan then we can discuss thes ASD client
Okay, so I went to see a man who has aphasia after having a left frontal brain tumour removed. His family report an acquired dsyfluency but since he only has prolongations on WI sounds very occasionally (which doesn’t affect intelligibility and not on syllable boundaries, it feels like more of a motor planning issue to me. What does everyone else think? ANy advice?
Alison • Tue, 19:23
OK Helen, will do that, Thanks. – Shayma • Tue, 19:23
i have noted about the resources for adults alison and will take to the board meeting on Friday
sorry i think stavroulla is still not had an invtie – Stephanie • Tue, 19:25
Some everyday action cards and everyday object cards, plus Semantic links (by Bigland-Lewis and Speak) would be good and those don’t cost too much. – Alison • Tue, 19:25
