A number of highly-skilled speech and language therapists are available to assess the individual?s speech, language and communication needs.
I.T.S. can provide speech and language therapy services in Leicestershire, Surrey, Cambridgeshire, Warwickshire, Essex, Middlesex and the East Midlands. I.T.S. can also provide services from associated health and education professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Educational Psychologists and Creative Expressive Therapists.
Assessments can be carried out at a variety of settings, dependent on the individual?s needs. This may be, for example, at home or at school.
Therapy
If the therapist requires more than one assessment session, they will inform you and explain why. Some children or adults with stroke are unable to attend for long periods of time and require several, shorter sessions.
If you are happy for therapy to begin, the speech and language therapist will set therapeutic goals and targets to achieve, based on the individual?s abilities and needs. The therapy will be personalised as far as possible to the individual?s interests to ensure that it is as enjoyable and motivating an experience as possible. The therapy should be sufficiently challenging, but not so difficult that the individual struggles or becomes disheartened.
If you think that your child, relative or friend may benefit from speech and language therapy or associated therapies, I.T.S could be of help. Contact us here: https://integratedtreatmentservices.co.uk/contact-us/enquiry
