ITS have joined with ICAN to bring you Talk Boost!

Talk Boost is an evidenced based program that can boost a child’s communication by an average of 18 months after 10 weeks intervention. For the first time Ofsted will be evaluating standards in communication and focusing on how schools narrow the gap between children and the lowest and highest attainment.

We offer training at our central clinics or you can host the training at your school. If you wish to train several pairs it is more cost effective to host a training course at your setting.

Clinic Course Information

• One day courses run from 9.30am to 4pm.
• Twilight courses run from 3.00pm to 5.30pm.
• The sessions cost £312.50* for 1 training pair – (A training pair is 1 Teacher** and 1 Teaching Assistant).
• Attendance at a full day or 2 Twilight sessions will give you a license to carry out the Talk Boost programme in your setting enabling many of your children with SLCN the chance to narrow the language gap and perform in-line with their peers.
• Following your training, you will be able to use your fantastic set of resources from ICAN to run the groups which offer 100’s of ready made activities to target a range of speech, language difficulties.

*Each pair will need to order their set of training materials directly from ICAN prior to the course. The cost of the set is £300.00. The Starter Pack for a training pair (1 teacher and 1 TA) includes: 1x TA’s Intervention Manual, 1 x Teacher Manual inc. SLC Progression Tool, 12 x Children’s Activity Books, 2 x Delegate books, 1 x Communication Cookbook.

**Teachers will only need to attend the morning of a full day course, or the first of two Twilight sessions.

Follow up consults at your setting

We offer follow up consultations to ensure the course is being delivered effectively, and to support teaching assistants in its delivery. Post Course Consultations can also be used to discuss the logistics of implementing the approach across your setting.

Consultations are equivalent to a half day. You can either book an am or pm consultation.

Morning consultations run from 9am to 12pm and afternoon consultations run from 1pm to 4pm.
