A recent article in The Telegraph (http://tinyurl.com/dyslexiaheseltine) by Annabel Heseltine – daughter of Michael Heseltine – discusses the journey she has taken in coming to terms with dyslexia in her children, brother and father.
The British Dyslexia Association defines dyslexia as “a specific learning difficulty which mainly affects the development of literacy and language related skills”. Children can be affected in a number of different ways, but it is difficulties with reading and spelling that are most commonly known about.
Early identification of dyslexia is particularly important so that support can begin at school to prevent further difficulties with learning.

Educational psychologists and speech & language therapists can provide full assessments about the specific difficulties that a child may be having. They can then provide recommendations about the best types of support available.
ITS has therapists who specialise in literacy difficulties and dyslexia, and can provide support outside of school if necessary. For more information, contact ITS here: https://integratedtreatmentservices.co.uk/contact-us/
